Derackk Curtis: Director of Hockey Operations/General Manager for Terrier Red and White

Derackk grew up in Canada playing minor hockey for the town of Waterloo, Ontario before leaving home to pursue hockey at age 15. He has spent over 25 years working with players in Canada and the US. From his first volunteer position in 1995 with the Vancouver Thunderbirds travel elite, to his current position with the Boston Jr. Terriers, he has worked with players from Mite to pros.
During his playing career, Curtis played prep hockey at Ridley College, junior for the London Nationals WOHL for two seasons before playing for the University of Western Ontario. While at Western, he completed a degree in Political Science with a minor in psychology. Injuries ultimately forced him out of competitive hockey but allowed him to find his true calling as a coach and mentor.
 For his coaching career, he has been EHF champion coach at the U16 T1 and youth levels. He was the Head Coach at Archbishop Williams from 2008 -2021 leading the team (Catholic Central League Champions 2010 and 2013, South Sectional Champions 2010, Super 8 2013 and 2014. Curtis coached Sandwich High School 2004-2008, where he won a State Championship and has been named High School Coach of the Year. From 2000-2003 he coached the Abilene Christian University Inline team to consecutive South Sectional Championships and back-to-back appearances at the College Nationals.
Derackk is a member of the Ridley College Hockey Hall of Fame (Athletic Lives of Distinction) and has worked with teams in the BCHL (Surrey Eagles, Chilliwack Chiefs), and many former players in the WHL, AJHL, WOHL, and skills coach for many former NHL, CHL, NCAA, and EHF players. He is a current Scout for the Pembroke Lumber Kings in the CCHL. Derackk lives in Manomet Beach, MA with his wife and two sons. 

Terrence Butts: Learn to Skate-Learn to Play, Girls & Mite Director for Terrier Red

Terrence Butt joined the Boston Junior Terriers in March of 2017 as the Director of Hockey Operation for Terrier Red.  A 1991 graduate of the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, Terrence went on to play both hockey and baseball at Holy Cross College.  A four year letter-winner, he garnered Academic All-American honors in both sports during his season year.  He was also recently inducted into the Holy Cross Hall of Fame in 2018 for his accomplishments on the ice and on the diamond.  

After graduating from Holy Cross in 1995, Terrence put his Economics/Accounting degree to work at Ernst & Young LLP where he received accreditation as a Certified Public Accountant.  He then returned to Holy Cross as an assistant coach for both the hockey and baseball teams.  During his 6 year involvement with the hockey program at Holy Cross, teams he helped recruit and coach went on to capture 3 league championships and earn 2 NCAA national tournament bids.  He also attended graduate school at Clark University, earning a Master of Business Administration degree in May of 2004.  

After departing Holy Cross to work as an associate athletic director and head varsity hockey coach at BB&N in the prestigious Independent School League for 12 years.  Terrence is excited to focus his hockey efforts for the Terriers moving forward on the Mite, Girls and Introductory Terrier Programs.

 

Joe Trudeau: Learn to Skate-Learn to Play & Mite Director for Terrier White

Joe Trudeau is a long time Jr Terrier coach, mentor and advisor. He has been with us since 2007 at the mite level and has also coached many different teams up through the midget level. Overall 20 has coached at the mite level for over 20 years. Prior to working with the Terriers Joe was a local youth hockey VP/President/and coach for over six years. If you have ever seen one of Joes teams you get the assured feeling that he is the perfect man for the Job.

Joe takes added time to work closely with each individual player and helps them as they start their hockey careers. From added one on one attention, to the emphasis on having fun and being good teammates, creating a lively and engaged family/team envirnonment, there is no other coach in the area that is as dedicated to his players then Joe. We have been extremely lucky to have joe and are beyond excited to have him take more responsibility and lead the way in our learn to skate/play and mite areas. 

 

Mike Hoffmann: Director of Player Development & Skills Operations for Terrier White

Mike Hoffman is Director of Player Development and Operations, Terrier White.  Hoffman brings an abundant amount of experience to the Terriers, professionally playing in the NHL, AHL and Europe over 10 seasons (2003-2012).  With a Master’s Degree in Sports Management along with his playing experience + coaching/developing thousands of youth players over the past 3 years, we are excited to have Mike on board.

 

Paul Vincent: Power Skating & Skills Development Consultant
Paul will serve the Terriers as an advisor in the area of skills development and power skating instruction.  He will act as a consultant to our coaches on a monthly basis and will develop the curriculum we will use for all of our Terrier teams throughout the season.  Paul is currently the skating coach of the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League and has worked with NHL teams for over a decade in a similar capacity.  His stable of players that have played at the Division I and Professional levels is endless.  When he isn’t in Florida, Paul and his wife reside on Cape Cod.


Mike Grier: Assistant Coordinator of Player Development
Mike returns to the area after a 15-year NHL career, playing over 1,000 games with the Buffalo Sabres, Edmonton Oilers, San Jose Sharks, and Washington Capitals.  Mike and his wife have two children.
